How to diminish stress and recover quickly?

#recognise_stress #achieve_self_regulation

After years of studying effects of stress on general population, I have noted that majority of people recognise stress too late to do something meaningful about it. One of the ways to deal with stress is to devise a plan to neutralise it and start the process of healing. Why is this important? Stress in small doses can be useful to stimulate you to press forward in desired direction and even then, all accumulated stress must be correctly released out of your body. If not, it will start to build in energetic layers of your bio-energy field, causing progressive slow down of the flow of energy. As this reduction of the flow of energy continues unimpeded, it will at some point result in significant mental and physical dysfunctions.

The problem is that noticing symptoms of stress for a busy person is not an easy task. Because your total mental focus is on events in your external reality and not on what is going on within yourself. However, progressive energy reduction is usually felt as sluggishness, inability to sleep, low concentration, low productivity and muddy thinking. When you experience these symptoms – the usual response is fearful reaction, which stimulates more stress and if you are not trained to act decisively, you will succumb yourself into a state of total mental paralysis. Further, the build up of this cumulative stress will over time affect your mental health. If you do nothing to address this issue, the next step is progressive deterioration of your overall health by initiation of acute physical disorders in later stages.

What factors contribute toward creation of stress? In majority of situations, there are two major contributors:

  • overall focus on external world, whilst at the same time you are completely neglecting your mental states
  • unhealthy diet and sedentary lifestyle

For the purpose of this text, we will only focus on mental states.

Why is it important to master your mental states?

In order to start, we must first acknowledge the fact that today more than ever – humanity is faced with insurmountable challenge known as: “living in the fast lane”. This particular way of life represents unfathomable desire for acquisition of money, status, career at the expense of basic human biological needs, such as: healthy lifestyle, healthy relationships, happiness and mental congruency.

If on top of this, we add rapid growth of automation and information technology, which enables easy access to huge volumes of information – the end result is one almighty confusion. This poses the question – how can you effectively process so much information presented to you at once, whilst managing to stay calm, focused and composed? The answer is that you can, but you must constantly work on your ability to skilfully eliminate “non relevant data” and focus only on what you need. In our programme “The Hour of Power” we will teach precisely how to do that.

Such sudden surge of information sharing capability was never recorded in human history before, thus posing questions about further consequences on already dented overall mental health of majority of people. Technological advancements so far have already created major information saturation disparity in where people are processing more information, than realistically needed. In here, we are talking about many different variables of which some are relevant and some are not, such as: health, work, family, finances, politics, economy, ecology, social issues etc… This development has led to explosion of stress related illnesses, caused by excessive information processing, which must be seriously scrutinised for purpose and then acted upon with steely determination of what is relevant and what is not.

There is only so much mental exertion you can take safely, before you reach final limits. This is largely dictated by your ability to cope with adversity, when exposed to mental onslaughts of various levels of intensity. Regardless of how well you control your cognitive faculties, you are always in danger of being pushed into the “red zone”, particularly when faced with unexpected and difficult to cope situations.

The answer is strong coping mechanism

Luckily, we are equipped with strong coping mechanisms capable to absorb significant mental pressures for limited periods only. However, when that coping mechanism reaches its top limits, it still has the potential for further stress absorption, which is defined as “high stress” zone. Because from that point on, excessive stress puts much greater pressure on your mental structure and depending on the force exerted, you may experience mild or even severe mental paralysis. This is usually expressed in your ability to bow down under pressure, thus feeling emotionally exhausted, until your body progressively releases excessive pressures, allowing you to return to some form of cognitive normality. This applies to situations in which you are not constantly bombarded with new demands and unrealistic expectations.

However, due to the speed of technological development, our mental coping mechanisms were saturated a while ago and therefore, majority of us are operating under higher than biologically acceptable stress coping thresholds. This means that we are constantly adapting and stretching our stress tolerance levels further. In so doing, we have almost collectively forgotten of what it means to live “normally” or operating in calm and stress free environments. Naturally, all this is a product of progressive mind programming, in which we systematically and methodically teach our subconscious mind that our new normal “modus operandi” is to progressively or over time adjust to higher stress levels.

Mental disparity

This is the main problem, because you may programme your subconscious mind to eventually succumb to your newly created reality. But you cannot change your “original” biological programme that still operates in exactly the same way as how it was first created. Your default way is to be calm, composed and relaxed, so that you are fully congruent with your predominant thoughts and emotions. In those moments, they correctly reflect your external experiences, hence you are able to fully focus on the present moment, free from obstructive and non relevant thoughts and emotions. All this is possible, because in this original or ancient state of mind, you are only meant to process information relevant for managing your present conditions. This is the primary function required for your survival and once you master your survival, you are then able to introduce in parallel the secondary function, which is to correctly evaluate your past/present experiences for the purpose of creating the action plan for future.

All information you use in this process is organically generated through your own interaction with external environment for the purpose of creation of your inner map of the world. This means you are mentally congruent and in full control of all your mental faculties, particularly of your thoughts and emotions. Thoughts are key initiators of all your mental states, but emotions are the ones that provide fuel and reasons for their existence. Emotions are the force that either regulate or deregulate energetic output in and outside of your body and as such they play immense role for correct functioning of your body cells, because your cells are fully tuned into your emotions and their vibrations. So whatever you experience emotionally, exactly the same experience will be reflected within your sub cellular structure.

It is for that reason that you must be extremely careful, as to what you are thinking and feeling at any moment. Because your physical body runs on a strictly set biological rules, which cannot be changed (not with our present levels of consciousness). However, it is flexible enough to allow you to cope with temporary strains for as long as you return back to “normal” (calm and controlled mental states) for the purpose of self regulation and progressive return to balanced state of being. This is the coping mechanism that was explained earlier and which should be fully understood and respected, because otherwise – you are creating the potential to create more unnecessary damage to your already strained mental structure.

What can you do to help yourself?

In order to help yourself detect excessive stress early and/or tune into your coping mechanism, you must firstly become aware of your “normal” or fully relaxed mental states. This means you must become aware of your predominant mental states, so you are aware of your predominant thoughts and emotions at all times. Naturally in order to initiate this process, you must condition yourself to be calm and relaxed at all times. Once you master this ability and persist in your quest for effective mental and physical relaxation – you will easily notice any other mental state. In particular you will become super sensitive to various gradations of stress, which will hep you fight it off more effectively.

You will do this by practising various breath and energy generation exercises, which you will learn in our twenty week programme “The Hour of Power”. Regular daily work on all aspects of your mental and physical being are crucial for effective control and eventual neutralisation of stress symptoms. It is my belief that stress detection paralysis was caused by most of us having none or very little sense of what is going on inside. Such basic lack of self awareness can cost many people their lives and something has to be done urgently. Namely, complete stress awareness is the number one thing that I teach at the very beginning of my personal development programme, because you cannot start the process of healing, unless you master effective control of stress.

Whenever I feel disjointed and not in the “right place”, such as I feel my body tensing, tingling and even hearing constant noises in my ears – I know I am stressed. At that point, I start my “conscious and controlled breathing”, which allows me to calm, centre down and pay more attention onto my location and what I am doing, thinking and how all that makes me feel. The key benefit of this technique is that it focuses me on the present moment and helps me ignore all non relevant stressful thoughts and negative emotions, which are usual bearers of stress.

When I reach this point, I tend to resume my “relaxation stance”, which allows me to go deeper inside and start the process of self appraisal. Depending on what I detect and how deeply I feel disengaged at the core of my being, I use set of different mental and physical exercises to help me stay focused on NOW and start the process of self regulation.

Depending on what I need to do, I use a number of mental and physical exercises that help me achieve the state that I seek and then I anchor that state and remain in it consciously, until my body adopts it fully. At that point, I slowly and in my own pace return to fully conscious state, so that I can resume whatever I was doing before, but this time I am calm and empowered. This ritual has become my regular daily self evaluation, together with self correction system, which work alongside one another. I find it very useful and powerful tool to have in order to keep my self healthy and in good mental and physical shape.

Why is self awareness important?

Self awareness or conscious ability to detect predominant mental and physical states should be everyone’s health and wellbeing priority number one. Because that ability allows you to consciously notice your predominant thought patterns, feelings, moods and the physical state of your body, as well. By mastering this skill, you know what action to take to initiate the process of self regulation, which can be prevention, soothing or healing of all symptoms of stress and anxiety.
